DMW Architects are pleased to announce that our 9 unit residential and commercial development at Parr Street in Ashley Cross,Poole has this week gained Planning Consent and Listed Building Consent from the Borough of Poole.
The site is home to a Grade II Listed former School, which is to be given a new lease of life as a commercial entity. The other associated former school buildings (formerly the music venue ‘Mr Kyps’) are to be carefully restored and converted into 5 residential units, bringing the buildings back to their original splendour. The development also includes two new ancillary cottages within a former parking area, creating an enclosed courtyard, framing the listed structures beyond.
This sensitive conservation project has been developed carefully in collaboration with our client Bayview Developments, who benefit from a history of working with and converting historic buildings. The development was granted a delegated planning and listed building consent after a productive process of pre application negotiation with the planning officer and conservation officer, ensuring a smooth planning process.
