DMWA were commissioned in 2014 by a private client to design a replacement dwelling at this prominent site at Sterte Esplanade in Poole, Dorset. The site benefits from stunning, unobstructed views towards Holes Bay and the Hamworthy Marina.
The existing building is a small bungalow that is in poor condition, with only limited views towards Holes Bay. With a precedent set by other dwellings on the road, we have proposed a 2 storey form with provision for additional accommodation within the roof void in the form of an open mezzanine storey. The primary living spaces have been located at first floor, creating a dramatic vaulted living /dining room with a framed view toward the Bay.
Following a positive pre application process, the project gained full planning consent from Poole Borough Council in December 2014.
DMWA will be preparing working drawings with work to start on site later in 2015.
