The location, nestled within the embrace of a conservation area, added both a layer of complexity and an element of intrigue. We liaised closely with the conservation officer at the pre-application stage, carefully designing our approach to ensure that the sensitive conversion and additions enhance the historical fabric, instead of infringing upon it.

The end result - nine residential units and a commercial space, all exuding their unique charisma while contributing to the site's overall harmony.

Particular attention was paid to the original facing brick of the buildings. These bricks were uncovered and meticulously refurbished, preserving the tangible memory of the school and integrating it seamlessly into the development. The newly created ancillary cottages frame the listed structures, forming a quaint courtyard that offers an intimate vista of the converted school.
