Set against the rustic charm of North Dorset, the clients brief called for the transformation of a fatigued farmhouse style property into an elegant and highly sustainable family home.
The brief called for a design which respectfully reinterpreted the farmhouse's original character, integrating it seamlessly with a modern addition. The principle challenge lay in replacing a tired conservatory with an extension that sits juxtaposed to the existing and which stretches out to unite inside and outside.
The glass box extension stands as a testament to minimalistic architectural design, its full-height glazing and bi-parting sliding doors affording an immersive connection with nature. Concealed pocket doors augment the seamless flow between new and old, ensuring the beauty of the surrounding landscape is referenced at all times
