Located in the Greenbelt in rural Dorset, this minimalist home sits in between open fields and an historic ancient woodland.
The house adopts a clever "yin-yang" geometry, with two opposing orientated volumes centred around an open-plan living space. This provides a well-organised and efficient layout of distinct zones and considers, access, views, amenity, and accommodation requirements.
Linear walls guide movement, delineating private and shared spaces. Rising from the lower level, the walls stop above the door height, allowing top-lit slot windows to illuminate ancillary areas. A bronze-finished tabletop structure unifies the internal zones, providing solar shading and shelter to external spaces. Full height glazing is used to frame the private woodland views whilst drawing in natural light.
