New Low Energy Dwelling

Using the principles defined in the New Forest Design Guide, this new, low energy family dwelling set deep within in the New Forest National Park demonstrates a sensitive design retaining the distinctive characteristics that define the New Forest.

Organized around a central North-South spine wall of traditional clay brick, the outlook from the rooms gives panoramic views through mature trees and across surrounding farmland. The clients horses are allowed to roam free in and around the paddock garden. An important defining concept was to ground the building into the landscape with an extensive but subtle, naturalistic landscape design. The house will be complete Summer 2020.
