Congratulations to Ryan (aka Bird Man) for completing this years London Marathon raising over £2,000 for the Birds of Poole Harbour charity (BoPH).
Ryan was inspired to raise money for the local charity, as during the Covid lockdown he found a daily dose of hope, reassurance and well-being in the Birds of Poole Harbour BoPH and their Osprey webcams.
BoPH is a charity that is completely dedicated to boosting the profile of bird conservation and education in and around Poole Harbour. Their continuing efforts have helped to provide countless members of the public engage with their local natural environment, highlighting the need to protect and conserve our sensitive wildlife and environment.
Speaking after the event Ryan said ‘What an amazing event and experience!...and I managed to make it round in one piece, with a time of 4hrs 30. Throughout the route the public support was phenomenal and certainly was the reason I was able to hold on through the 26 miles…every time I flapped my wings, the crowds cheered louder! Thank you for all the support.’
