We’re delighted to share these photos of our now completed new dwelling in Corfe Mullen, Dorset. The single storey modern house has been developed within the former garden of an existing dwelling. Located in close proximity to protected trees, the house ‘floats’ over the site on piled foundations, enabling it to sit within root protection areas, unlocking an otherwise unviable site.
The concept was to create a new sustainable family home to the rear of a large bungalow garden plot in Corfe Mullen.
The new dwelling is a sympathetic and low-key building, sitting harmoniously within the garden and respectful of the surrounding neighbours and tree-line.
Finished and detailed to the highest standards, this unique dwelling has been purchased by a retired couple seeking to downsize and enjoy single storey living in a modern and bright space, in contrast to the more traditional bungalow typology.
