DMW Architects collaborated with our client to remodel and extend a prominent waterside building within Poole Park, following the success of The Ark. The objective was to transform the building from an underperforming exclusive restaurant into a welcoming café and community hub accessible to all park visitors.
The plans included the remodelling and extending of the existing restaurant, a new ice cream café, as well as an extensive landscape scheme designed around an existing mature tree to provide an accessible and inclusive public amenity space.
'The Kitchen' was launched in July 2015 and has quickly gained popularity among both locals and tourists, becoming a go-to spot in Poole Park. This project exemplifies how thoughtful design and community engagement are crucial in transforming spaces and creating inclusive public amenities.
